Microsoft 365 uninstalled - Neednreinstall - problems occurring

The problem started with MS Docs and Excel not opening and appearing as white/blank pages in the saved file.

Did all the steps to rectify (quick fix, online fix). Last fix said to uninstall it. So I did that, now I cannot get it to reinstall. Not sure if once it is reinstated, the original problem will be fixed. I have MS 11. Been working on this for hours. Need help ASAP.

    Hi, Gina Cohen

    Welcome to Microsoft Q&A forum.

It sounds like the Office installation on your Windows 11 PC became damaged, which can cause Word/Excel to open as blank or white screens, and then the standard repair/uninstall path left leftover pieces that are now blocking a clean reinstall.

Here are some suggestions you can try:

Do a clean uninstall using Microsoft’s built-in remover, then restart.

Open the Windows Get Help app and run the Microsoft 365/Office uninstall troubleshooter, then reboot. It removes the hidden Click-to-Run services and leftovers that a normal uninstall often misses.

Reinstall from the official install page (not from an old download link).

Sign in at office.com and choose Install apps, then run the installer as normal. This works because it pulls the correct, current installer tied to your license, instead of a stale or incompatible setup file.

If the installer still won’t run, use Windows 11’s Office setup troubleshooter.

In the Get Help app, search “Setup Microsoft Office” and follow the prompts. It checks common blockers like incomplete installs, licensing sign-in issues, and setup components.

After reinstalling, test whether the “blank page” issue is the app or the file.

Open one affected document in Word on the web (office.com) and also try a brand-new blank document on the PC. It quickly tells you whether the files were corrupted, or whether the desktop apps were the problem.

Tip: Uninstalling Office usually does not delete your documents, it removes the apps. If your files were in OneDrive, you can also check version history later if needed.

Hope this helps. Feel free to get back if you need further assistance.
