Hello Jeannie Dollahan,
Welcome to the Q&A forum!
From what you described, I understand when you launch the 3DXChat game via its Launcher, a PowerShell window opens instead of taking you directly to the game’s login screen.
The "Install the latest PowerShell…" message is typically just a Windows notification. It’s possible that the actual login window is not appearing correctly, or it may be opening behind the PowerShell console. Here’s what you can do:
1. Check if the login window is hidden after launching the game:
Press Alt + Tab and look for the 3DXChat / Sign‑in window.
2. Run 3DXChat as administrator:
Right‑click 3DXChat.exe (or Launcher.exe) > Run as administrator.
To make it permanent: Properties > Compatibility > Run this program as administrator.
3. Check antivirus / security software:
Temporarily disable real‑time protection or add the entire 3DXChat folder as an exclusion. Launch the game again. If the login screen appears, keep 3DXChat in the exceptions list.
4. Update/Install PowerShell
This installs PowerShell 7 (pwsh.exe) side‑by‑side in case Apps / launchers expect PowerShell 7
- Open an elevated PowerShell or Command Prompt and run:
winget install --id Microsoft.PowerShell --source winget - Then restart your PC.
- Or download the latest stable MSI for your system (x64 recommended)
This installs PowerShell 7 (pwsh.exe) side‑by‑side in case Apps / launchers expect PowerShell 7 After restart, launch your 3DXChat shortcut again (make sure it’s set to Run as administrator).
Hope that helps. Let me know how it goes!
