Hi

I have a Microsoft pro and a personal one. My calendar seems to be on the pro version, but I can't add it to Google. It does not seem to recognise it.

    Hi anita Sauvage,

Google Calendar doesn’t automatically detect Outlook calendars. To add one, you need to subscribe using a published ICS link from Outlook.

In Outlook on the web (Outlook.com): Settings (gear) > Calendar > Shared calendars > Publish a calendar

    • Select the calendar
    • Important: Set the permission level to “Can view all details” if you want meeting titles and details. If it’s left as “Can view when I’m busy”, Google Calendar will only show busy blocks.
    • Click Publish and copy the ICS link

In Google Calendar (web): Other calendars > + > From URL > Paste the ICS link and add it

    Notes:

    • This is a one‑way subscription (Outlook > Google). Changes made in Google won’t sync back to Outlook.
    • Updates aren’t instant. Google typically refreshes subscribed calendars every 6–24 hours, so changes may take some time to appear.
    • If the calendar is shared with you (not owned by you), Outlook.com usually won’t allow publishing it. In that case, the calendar owner would need to publish and share the ICS link.
    • For work/school (“pro”) accounts, calendar publishing may be restricted by organizational policy.

Hope this helps clarify how to get it set up.

Please let me know if this proves useful to you, or if you would like further assistance.

I'm looking forward to your reply.

The work/school (Microsoft 365) calendar cannot be added directly “as an account” into Google Calendar, but it can be shared to Google using an internet calendar (ICS) link or by importing an .ics file, depending on what Google supports in the scenario.

From the Outlook side there are two main options shown in the context:

    1. Subscribe to Outlook calendars from other services (Google → Outlook)
      • In Outlook on the web or Outlook.com, calendars from Google can be added using ICS subscriptions or imports, but this is one‑way into Outlook, not into Google.
      • Steps (for Outlook on the web):
        1. Go to CalendarAdd calendar.
        2. Use Subscribe from web / Subscribe to a calendar and provide the .ics URL from Google or another service.
    2. Publish or export the Outlook calendar and then add it in Google
      • In Outlook for Windows (desktop), an Outlook calendar can be exposed as an internet calendar using an iCal/ICS URL, which Google Calendar can subscribe to:
        1. In Outlook desktop, open the calendar.
        2. On the Home tab, select Add CalendarFrom Internet to see how internet calendars are handled. The same mechanism is used for Google: Google needs an ICS URL.
        3. For Google to “recognize” the calendar, use an ICS/iCal link or exported .ics file from Outlook and then add it in Google Calendar via From URL or Import.
      • The context shows how Outlook consumes Google’s ICS URL:
        1. In Google Calendar, go to Settings and sharing for the calendar.
        2. Under Integrate calendar, copy the Secret address in iCal format URL.
        3. In Outlook, use Add CalendarFrom Internet and paste the URL.
      • To go the other way (Outlook → Google), use the equivalent ICS/iCal URL or export from Outlook, then add that URL/file in Google Calendar. Google will not “recognize” the calendar unless it is provided as a valid ICS/iCal source.

If the goal is simply to see the personal calendar alongside the work calendar inside Outlook (rather than inside Google), Outlook on the web supports connecting a personal Outlook.com or Google account directly to the work/school account:

    1. In Outlook on the web, go to CalendarAdd calendar.
    2. Select Add personal calendars.
    3. Choose the personal Outlook.com or Google account and sign in.
    4. After connection, personal events appear in the work/school calendar view and affect availability.

This connection is only in Outlook on the web and does not give email access; it only brings the personal calendar into the work/school view.
