Hi all,
how can I install MS Office 2024 LTSC along with Office 365 for Business? I share my computer with my wife, under her account her employer installed Office 365 for Business with her business account. From my organization I have received a licence for Office 2024 LTSC, which I want to install under my own account. Both of us MUST use our commercial licenses, as she (or her employer) does not have Office 2024 LTSC licence and I do not have an Office 365 licence.

When I try to Install Office 2024 LTSC, the installer asks me to remove Office 365 for Business first.

Hardware: Lenovo 5450 with Windows 11 Pro.

Thank you for your help!

Karel

Hi Karel Hruska,

I understand that since both you and your wife must use your respective commercial licenses, it’s completely reasonable to want Microsoft Office LTSC 2024 and Microsoft 365 Apps for business installed on the same device.

Unfortunately, even when using different Windows user accounts, Office is installed at the system level. Because these products belong to different Office families, running Office LTSC 2024 and Microsoft 365 Apps for business on the same Windows installation is generally not supported, which is why the system asks you to remove the existing Microsoft 365 installation.

You can find more details about supported and unsupported Office side-by-side installations in Microsoft’s documentation: Supported scenarios for installing different versions of Office, Project, and Visio on the same computer

I understand this limitation can be inconvenient, especially when multiple users share one computer but need different licensed Office versions.

Microsoft values customer feedback, so if this capability would be helpful in your scenario, I encourage you to share it through the Microsoft Feedback Portal: https://feedbackportal.microsoft.com/feedback/ Your feedback helps the product team understand real-world needs and consider them for future improvements. I also sincerely hope we may see more flexible installation options introduced in future releases.

I hope the information above is helpful. If you have any further questions, please feel free to reach out.
