    Hi JEFFCADNEY TINGGI,

Thanks for posting your question. I understand that you’re experiencing an issue with your camera. Have you already tried all the suggestions provided by Q&A Assist? In addition, please try the following steps.

1, Check if the camera is disabled at firmware (BIOS / UEFI) level

If the camera disappeared entirely from Device Manager, this is an important check.

    Steps:

    1. Shut down the PC completely
    2. Power it on and repeatedly press “F2”, “F10”, “DEL”, or “ESC” (varies by manufacturer) to enter BIOS/UEFI
    3. Look for sections like “Advanced”, “Security”, or “Integrated Peripherals”
    4. Make sure “Camera”, “Webcam”, or “Integrated Camera” is set to “Enabled”
    5. Save changes and restart Windows

If you’re unsure which key to press, check the device manufacturer’s support page.

2, Check whether a recent Windows update disabled the camera device

Since the camera was working 3–5 days ago, a recent update may be related.

    Quick test:

    1. Go to “Settings” > “Windows Update” > “Update history”
    2. Check “Driver updates” and “Quality updates” installed recently
    3. If a camera‑related or system update was installed just before the issue, note its name

3, Check manufacturer diagnostic / hardware detection

    If the camera is:

    • Not shown in Device Manager at all
    • Not shown in BIOS/UEFI

This usually points to a hardware or internal connection issue.

At this stage, please visit your PC manufacturer’s support page and look for hardware diagnostics or camera test tools.

Hi. I'm David, and I'm happy to help you.

    Please clarify the following:

Do you use the device's built-in camera or an external camera?

Perhaps your camera is hidden. See if you can find it by enabling the "Show hidden devices" option in Device Manager.

    1. Press "Windows + X" and select "Device Manager";
    2. Click on the "View" menu and select "Show hidden devices";
    3. Expand "Cameras";

(If this category is not displayed, let me know.)

    1. If the camera is listed, right-click and select "Properties". Check if there is an error in "Device Status".

If you prefer, share a screenshot. Use the shortcut "Windows + Shift + S" to use the screenshot tool.

Also, share a screenshot of your system information.

    • Press "Windows + R", type msinfo32 and press Enter.

Maximize the window and use the screenshot tool.

    Looking forward to your reply.

Error 0xA00F4244 means Windows cannot detect the camera. Because the camera also does not appear in Device Manager, focus on connection, enablement, privacy, and drivers.

    Follow these steps in order:

    1. Check hardware and keyboard controls
      1. If using an external webcam, unplug it and plug it back in firmly to a different USB port.
      2. Check the function keys (F1–F12) for a camera icon. If present, press that key (or Fn + that key) to turn the webcam on.
      3. Look at the camera lens area for a physical privacy shutter/slider and make sure it is open.
    2. Confirm the camera is enabled in Device Manager
      1. Right-click Start and select Device Manager.
      2. Expand Cameras. If there is no Cameras section, also check Imaging devices, Sound, video and game controllers, and USB devices for any webcam entry.
      3. If the camera appears and shows Enable device when right‑clicked, select Enable device.
    3. Check Windows camera privacy settings
      1. Select Start > Settings > Privacy > Camera.
      2. Under Allow access to the camera on this device, select Change and turn Camera access for this device On.
      3. Make sure Allow apps to access your camera is On.
      4. If using desktop apps (browsers, Teams, etc.), ensure Let desktop apps access your camera is On.
    4. Update or reinstall the camera driver via Windows Update
      1. Run Windows Update and install all available updates. This can install or restore the correct camera driver.
      2. After updates, restart the PC and check Device Manager again for the camera.
    5. Install the camera driver from the manufacturer If the camera appears in Device Manager but still fails, or if a generic driver is used:
      1. In Device Manager, expand Cameras.
      2. Right‑click the problematic camera and select Properties.
      3. On the General tab, note the Manufacturer and model/name.
      4. Go to the PC or camera manufacturer’s support website and download the latest Windows 11 camera/webcam driver for that model.
      5. Install the driver and restart.

If the camera still does not appear anywhere in Device Manager after these steps, and it worked a few days ago, this usually indicates a hardware or internal connection issue on the device, and service from the device manufacturer may be required.
