If you are on a computer with a touchpad, it could also be due to the touchpad's sensitivity to vibration.

    Hi thomas fegan

If copied text loses its selection in Word, this is usually caused by an add‑in or clipboard/focus issue.

    Try the following:

    1. Copy using Ctrl + C instead of right‑click. If this works, the issue is mouse/context‑menu related.
    2. Start Word in Safe Mode (winword /safe).
      • If selection works there, a Word add‑in is causing the issue.
    3. Disable add‑ins:
      • File > Options > Add‑ins > COM Add‑ins > Go, uncheck all, restart Word, then re‑enable one by one.
    4. Reset clipboard options:
      • File > Options > Advanced > Cut, copy, and paste, ensure default settings are enabled.

Let me know how it goes!
