Sharepoint list - Intergrate Power Automate to trigger flow for a selected item

I have two work accounts one is the standard Microsoft 365 work account which I use for SharePoint. Then have a work account for Power Automate Premium license. I have been able to successfully link my premium account to my SharePoint to build and trigger flows. However, I'm having trouble when I attempt to for a flow from my SharePoint list - for a selected item, to populate a word document. I'm able to do it from PowerAutomate as a manual flow but not from my SP List. My flow does not show as an option. How can I fix this?

    Hello @Darlene Brewster,

Good day! I hope you’re doing well.

Thank you for the detailed explanation and context you’ve provided. Based on your description, the behavior you’re encountering appears to be closely related to Power Automate / Power Apps integration with SharePoint, including trigger visibility, environment boundaries, and recent Power Platform service changes. These areas involve platform‑level behaviors and updates that are beyond my level of assistance within the Microsoft 365 Q&A category.

To ensure you receive the most accurate, current, and technically specialized guidance, I recommend posting your question in the Microsoft Power Platform Community Forum

This forum is dedicated specifically to Power Automate, Power Apps, Dataverse, and SharePoint integrations, and it is actively monitored by Microsoft engineers, MVPs, and Power Platform specialists. They are well‑equipped to confirm whether what you’re experiencing is a known platform limitation, a recent service change, or if there are supported workarounds or design alternatives available.

As a forum moderator, I have limited coverage for Power Platform, specific trigger behavior, environment constraints, and licensing nuances. The Power Platform Community is therefore the most appropriate channel for timely and authoritative insights on this topic, and your question may also help others who are encountering the same scenario.

I sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this redirection may cause. My intention is to help you reach the right support channel where your issue can be properly assessed and resolved.

Thank you very much for your understanding. Have a great day, and please stay safe and healthy!

    Here's my enviroment:

    Your role

    Maker without full data access

    Data platform

    Dataverse

    Environment type

    Default

I also use the For a Selected Item Trigger. But when i save the flow it automatically changed to "manual" why is that?

Only flows in the default environment can be run manually from a SharePoint list using the For a selected item trigger.

    The SharePoint connector notes that:

Only flows within the default environment can be executed manually from a SharePoint list.

Because of this, a common reason a flow does not appear under Integrate → Power Automate → on the list is that the flow:

    • Is not in the default environment, or
    • Does not use the For a selected item SharePoint trigger for that list/site.

To fix the issue, ensure that:

    1. The flow is created in the default Power Automate environment.
    2. The trigger used is the SharePoint trigger For a selected item and is configured to the same site and list as the SharePoint list being used.
    3. The account used in SharePoint has access to that flow in Power Automate (owner or co-owner) in the same environment.

Once these conditions are met, the flow should appear as an option under Integrate → Power Automate for the list item and can then be used to populate the Word document from the selected item.
