    Hi Carol McCambridge,

I understand how frustrating it can be to keep seeing scan or network error messages, especially when scanning is something you rely on.

To help narrow this down, could you please clarify the following in text?

    1. Please type the full error message shown on the screen (even short wording helps, such as “Problem connecting to scanner” or an error code).
    2. How the scanner is connected
      • USB cable
      • Wi‑Fi / network scanner
      • Scanner built into a printer (all‑in‑one)
    3. Where the error appears
      • In the “Windows Scan” app
      • In the printer/scanner manufacturer app
      • During setup (adding the scanner in Settings)

In the meantime, please try two quick checks:

    1. Make sure Windows is fully updated: Go to “Settings” > “Windows Update” and install any pending updates, then restart the PC. Some scanner connectivity issues have been addressed through Windows updates.
    2. Confirm the scanner is detected by Windows: Open “Settings” > “Bluetooth & devices” > “Printers & scanners” and check whether your scanner appears there and shows as Ready. If it shows Offline or doesn’t appear, that helps narrow the cause.
