Microsoft 365 features that help users manage their subscriptions, account settings, and billing information.
Hello @James Dillon,
Thank you for your question.
Whether a disabled subscription can be deleted depends on the billing account type used to purchase it.
- If you have an MCA (Microsoft Customer Agreement) billing account, disabled subscriptions cannot be deleted manually. In this case, the subscription will be automatically deleted by Microsoft at the end of the subscription term that was agreed upon at the time of purchase.
- If you have an MOSA billing account, it is possible to delete disabled subscriptions by following the steps outlined in this Microsoft article: Close your Microsoft business account | Microsoft Learn
If you’ve followed the applicable steps and still aren’t able to remove the disabled subscription, the next recommended action is to contact the Microsoft Billing Team. They can review the subscription status, billing account type, and provide assistance if further action is required.
You can open a billing support ticket through the Microsoft 365 Admin Center using this guidance: Get support - Microsoft 365 admin | Microsoft Learn
I hope this helps clarify how disabled subscriptions are handled. Please let me know if you have any follow‑up questions.
Kind regards,
