    Thanks.

The next step is to open Settings > System > Recovery > Fix problems with Windows update and then reinstall Roblox.

    Hi Christopher McLure,

Please note that our forum is a public platform, and we will modify your question to hide your personal information in the description. Kindly ensure that you hide any personal or organizational information the next time you post an error or other details to protect personal data.

Based on the screenshot, Windows is trying to run RobloxPlayerInstaller.exe from a specific folder under C:\Users\...\AppData\Local\Roblox\Versions\..., but that file is no longer present. When the expected installer file or version folder is missing or incomplete, Windows cannot locate the path and the uninstall or repair action may fail.

A clean removal of the remaining Roblox files usually resolves this type of path error.

1, Close Roblox completely - make sure no Roblox or Roblox Player processes are running.

    2, Remove leftover Roblox folders.

    • Press Windows + R, type %localappdata% and press Enter.
    • Locate the Roblox folder.
    • Delete the entire Roblox folder (this removes the corrupted version folders).

3, Check for another install location (if present).

    • Open File Explorer > C:\Program Files (x86)
    • Delete the Roblox folder if it exists.

4, Restart the PC then you can download and install Roblox again from the official Roblox website.

If Settings > Apps > Installed apps still lists Roblox but the uninstall option shows the missing‑file message, proceed with reinstalling Roblox. Installing again generally recreates the required files so Windows can manage or remove the entry correctly.

    Hi,

In the versions folder, are there any folders with different hashes, like version-XXXXXX?

I’m eager to hear back and work together to find a solution.

The error indicates that Windows is trying to run an installer file that no longer exists in the specified path under AppData. To fix this and cleanly reinstall the game, remove the broken installation and then install again using a fresh installer.

    1. Try uninstalling the game via normal methods
      • Open Control PanelPrograms and Features (or SettingsAppsInstalled apps in Windows 11).
      • Find the game in the list and choose Uninstall and follow the prompts.
      • If this fails with a similar “file not found” error, use the next methods.
    2. Use the program’s own uninstall option (if present)
      • Click StartAll apps.
      • Open the game’s folder.
      • If there is an Uninstall entry, run it.
    3. Check Windows Installer service If uninstall or reinstall fails with Windows Installer–related errors:
      • Press Win + R, type services.msc, press Enter.
      • Find Windows Installer, right‑click → Properties.
      • Ensure Startup type is Manual, click OK.
      • Right‑click Windows InstallerStart.
      • Try uninstalling or reinstalling the game again.
    4. Manually remove leftover game files (advanced) If the game still cannot be uninstalled but is clearly broken, remove its files manually. This is for advanced users and carries some risk:
      • Before starting, create a system restore point.
      • Move any personal data (saves, screenshots) out of the game’s folders (for example into Documents).
      • Delete the game’s folders under locations such as:
        • C:\Users\<account>\AppData\Local\Roblox (or equivalent for the game)
        • Any game folder under C:\Program Files or C:\Program Files (x86).
      • If a file cannot be deleted, another program (for example antivirus) may be using it; temporarily close such software and try again.
    5. Reinstall from a fresh installer
      • Download the latest installer for the game from its official website or store.
      • Save it to a simple path (for example C:\Temp or Downloads).
      • Right‑click the installer → Run as administrator.
      • Complete installation and then launch the game.

If Windows Installer itself is corrupted or disabled and other installs/uninstalls also fail, follow the guidance to identify and repair Windows Installer issues, including verifying MSIExec runs without error and that the Windows Installer service is enabled.
