Well after updating my BIOS still wont work unless I hard power cycle my device. The BT & Wifi devices dont even show up in the device manager.
Latest Windows Update Broke my Wifi / BT Drivers (2026-04 Security Update (KB5083769) (26200.8246) 2026-03 Update (KB5085516) (26200.8039) -
So title sums it up pretty much. Recently downloaded the latest update from windows and it broke my wifi and bluetooth. They dont show up in device manager, they do not run, they seem as if they do not even exist. I have re-installed the drivers for my motherboard from the MSI website and they do not work. So now my computer has no wifi or BT capabilties.
My motherboard is:
PRO B840-VC WIFI (MS-7E57)
Please help! Nothing is working. I've tried update roll backs, re-installing drivers, etc.
How can I fix this? I need my wifi & BT.
Everything is up to date.
Thank you!

2026-04-19T17:19:53.6933333+00:00 Hi Ryan Gray,
Please try uninstalling the problem update following this article: How to uninstall a Windows Update.
If uninstalling it does not help or the update cannot be uninstalled, please perform an In-place upgrade.
Disclaimer: Let’s try performing an in-place install or in-place upgrade which will refresh your Windows files and operating system without removing files or applications. That being said, we always recommend that if you have important data, you should back it up before making large system changes. If you want to back up your data first, please do so. Once you are done backing up, you can follow the steps in the following guides: How to run In-place upgrade in Windows 11 - Microsoft Community
After doing so, your system will get 25H2 without recent updates. You may need to reinstall your drivers to make sure they work as expected.
If you have further information, please feel free to let me know.

Access the device manager in the search bar, take a screenshot and post it here if possible.
If you have any faulty USB drivers in the device manager, take a screenshot of those as well.
Thanks

2026-04-17T18:09:05.71+00:00 Follow these steps in order; test Wi‑Fi/BT after each major step.
- Update or reinstall drivers via Device Manager
- Select Start, type Device Manager, and open it.
- Select View > Show hidden devices.
- Expand Bluetooth and Network adapters.
- If the wireless/Bluetooth devices appear:
- Right‑click each Wi‑Fi and Bluetooth adapter > Update driver > Search automatically for drivers.
- Restart the PC.
- If they show with warning icons or as “Unknown device” under Other devices:
- Right‑click > Update driver > Browse my computer for driver software and point to the folder where the MSI drivers were extracted.
- Restart the PC.
- If the wireless/Bluetooth devices appear:
- Let Windows Update reinstall device drivers
- Select Start > Settings > Windows Update.
- Select Check for updates.
- Install all available updates (including optional driver updates if shown), then restart.
- Reinstall Bluetooth driver
If Bluetooth shows up in Device Manager:
- Open Device Manager.
- Expand Bluetooth.
- Right‑click the Bluetooth adapter > Uninstall device.
- Restart the PC. Windows will automatically reinstall the Bluetooth driver after restart.
- Roll back Bluetooth driver (if it worked before the update)
- Open Device Manager.
- Expand Bluetooth, right‑click the Bluetooth adapter > Properties.
- On the Driver tab, select Roll Back Driver (if available) and follow the prompts.
- Install latest vendor drivers (chipset/Wi‑Fi/BT)
If Device Manager still does not show the devices or Windows says the best driver is already installed:
- Go to the PC/motherboard manufacturer’s support website.
- Search using the exact motherboard model (PRO B840‑VC WIFI / MS‑7E57).
- Download and install the latest chipset, Wi‑Fi, and Bluetooth drivers for Windows 11.
- Restart the PC after installation.
- Manually install downloaded Bluetooth driver packages
If the manufacturer provides .zip driver packages instead of an .exe installer:
- Extract the files.
- Ensure there is at least one .inf and one .sys file.
- Open Device Manager.
- For the Bluetooth or Wi‑Fi device (or unknown device):
- Right‑click > Update driver > Browse my computer for driver software.
- Select Browse, choose the folder with the extracted driver files, then OK > Next.
- Finish the wizard and restart if prompted.
- If Wi‑Fi/BT still do not appear at all
After the above, if there is still no Wi‑Fi or Bluetooth entry (even as hidden or unknown devices), this typically indicates either:
- The hardware is disabled in firmware/BIOS, or
- The update exposed a hardware/firmware issue that requires a board‑specific firmware or driver update from MSI.
- Verify in the motherboard firmware (BIOS/UEFI) that onboard Wi‑Fi/Bluetooth are enabled.
- Then repeat steps 2, 5, and 6 using the latest MSI‑provided packages.
If the devices reappear but connections are unstable or pairing fails, follow the additional Bluetooth troubleshooting steps in the referenced article (especially ensuring the latest drivers are installed).
