I am unable to access my msn.com account. I woke up to re-enter password. I did and it stated that it wasn't recognized. I have tried to recover it and now I am locked out. Every time this happens I get into this loop of request a code multiple times.

I need access to this email! Cant get clarification! Cant speak to anyone!! BEYOND FRUSTRATED!!!

Hey there! Nice to meet you!

Unfortunately, there is a service alert on the server regarding sign‑in issues: https://status.cloud.microsoft/m365/referrer=serviceStatusRedirect

Kindly try the Microsoft Sign‑in Helper troubleshooter in case this works: https://support.microsoft.com/account-billing/microsoft-account-sign-in-helper-7117cc8d-0d68-4658-b4fb-c4b7ee8a8e28

If the issue persists, I'm afraid your only option is to wait for Microsoft to fix this, and please check the server status from time to time.

Thank you for your understanding.

Best regards,

Darhyl

To break out of the loop and try to regain access to the msn.com (Microsoft) account, follow these steps in order:

    1. Use the Sign-in Helper instead of repeating codes
    1. If the password is “not recognized”
    • Follow the guidance in My username and password have stopped working:
      1. Go to Recover your account: https://account.live.com/password/reset
      2. Enter the msn.com email, phone number, or Skype name.
      3. Choose where to receive the security code and select Next.
      4. Enter the code, then set a new password.
    • Tips from the article:
      • Make sure the correct domain is used (for example, ******@msn.com, not a different domain).
      • Double-check spelling of the email name.
      • If the email isn’t recognized and there is another alias or phone number on the account, try that instead.
    1. If stuck in a verification-code loop or codes don’t arrive
    • Use the Troubleshoot Microsoft verification code issues article referenced from:
      • I can’t sign in to my Microsoft account
      • Microsoft account has been locked
    • Common mitigations from the context and Q&A answers:
      • Try in a different browser or an InPrivate/Incognito window.
      • Clear browser data and cookies, then retry.
      • Try a different network (for example, mobile data instead of home Wi‑Fi).
      • Use a different phone or SIM if possible.
    1. If the account is locked or “Next” does not appear
    • If Next is missing or the account is locked, follow Microsoft account has been locked:
      • When signing in, select the link that begins with aka.ms/ shown in the lock message.
      • Complete the reinstatement form; a Microsoft Online Safety agent will review it and contact by email.
      • Do not submit multiple forms, as this can slow down response.
    1. If recovery attempts hit limits or keep failing
    • If too many attempts have been made (codes, forms, etc.), wait out the lockout period (typically about 24 hours) before trying again, as described in the Q&A guidance.
    • When allowed again, use the Microsoft account recovery form:
      • Go to https://account.live.com/acsr (from the Q&A context).
      • Before filling it, review Help with the Microsoft account recovery form to maximize success.
      • Use a working email (can be any account) where Microsoft can contact with results.
      • Provide as much accurate detail as possible (old passwords, contacts, subject lines, etc.).
    1. If still unable to sign in
    • If the username still shows “We couldn’t find an account with that username” after following the above, the guidance in My username and password have stopped working says to contact support via the Contact support link in that article.
    • From the Q&A context, another option is to:
      • Go to Contact Support.
      • Type “recover account”, scroll down, and choose Contact Support.
      • Sign in with any other Microsoft account (or create a new one) and select:
        • Products and Services → Microsoft 365 and Office → Manage Account Security → Chat with a support agent in the browser.

If the account has been inactive for more than two years, I can’t sign in to my Microsoft account notes it may have been deleted and cannot be reopened.
