I have a new laptop and my G7000 printer does not show up, but I see a One-Note that I do not have, and it not in this household.

    Hi! Let me help you.

How is the printer connected—USB cable or Wi-Fi?

If Wi-Fi, is the printer connected to the same network as your new laptop?

Have you installed the Canon drivers/software, or are you relying on Windows to detect it automatically?

Does the printer appear under Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Printers & scanners, even as “offline”?

Can you print a network configuration page directly from the printer?

To make the G7000 printer show up and be usable on the new Windows 11 laptop, follow these steps:

    1. Remove any incorrect or unwanted printers (like the unexpected OneNote entry):
      1. Select Start > Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Printers & scanners.
      2. Select any printer you do not recognize (for example, the OneNote printer) and choose Remove.
    2. Install or reinstall the G7000 printer:
      1. Make sure the G7000 is powered on and connected (USB or same Wi‑Fi network as the laptop).
      2. On the laptop, go to Start > Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Printers & scanners.
      3. Select Add device next to Add a printer or scanner.
      4. Wait while Windows searches; when the G7000 appears, select Add device and follow the prompts.
      5. If it does not appear, use the printer manufacturer’s setup software to install the correct driver, then repeat the Add device steps.
    3. Set the G7000 as the default printer:
      1. In Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Printers & scanners, select the G7000.
      2. Select Set as default so Windows uses it automatically.
    4. If the printer still does not show or install correctly, update or reinstall the driver:
      1. Select Start > Device Manager.
      2. Expand Printers.
      3. Right‑click the G7000 (if listed) and select Update driver.
      4. If no update is available or the driver is faulty, select Uninstall device, then restart the laptop so Windows can reinstall the driver automatically.

If problems persist, run the printer troubleshooter in the Get Help app using the Run the troubleshooter in Get Help link from the printer support article, and follow the diagnostics.
