Using New Outlook on Windows for professional communication and productivity
Dear @Byung Seo,
Good day, and I appreciate the clear explanation of your concern.
Since reminders are working in Classic Outlook, Outlook on the web and mobile, this confirms the mailbox and calendar are functioning correctly. When the issue happens only in New Outlook for Windows, it is typically caused by local notification or Windows system settings blocking reminders, even though they still exist on the server.
Please see the following workarounds that will help you verify the issue:
Ensure that your Windows system and the Outlook application are fully up to date.
Option 1: Verify reminder notifications in New Outlook
Open New Outlook > Select Settings (gear icon) > Go to General > Notifications.
Under “Notify me about” > Select Calendar.
Turn Calendar notifications On > Expand Calendar > Set the notification style to Reminder (popup).
Enable sound if desired.
This ensures New Outlook is allowed to display reminder pop-ups.
Option 2: Confirm reminders are set on calendar events
In New Outlook, open Settings.
Go to Calendar, then Events and invitations.
Under “Events you create", set a Default reminder value such as 15 minutes.
Next, check an affected meeting directly.
Open the meeting from the calendar.
Confirm the Reminder field is set to a time value and not “Don’t remind me”.
This confirms reminders are configured correctly for both new and existing meetings.
Option 4: Check Windows notification settings
On the laptop, open Windows Settings > Go to System > Notifications.
Make sure “Get notifications from apps and other senders” is turned On.
Confirm Do Not Disturb is Off.
Scroll to the app list and select Outlook.
Make sure notifications are allowed, including banners and sounds if required.
Note: If any notification options are greyed out, they may be controlled by device or organizational policy. In that case, an administrator would need to allow notifications. For Windows 10 and Windows 11, you can use the Microsoft support article below to review notification and Do Not Disturb settings: Notifications and Do Not Disturb in Windows - Microsoft Support
Option 5: Check Focus sessions and Battery Saver
Open Windows Settings > Go to System > Focus.
Make sure no focus session is currently active.
Then check Battery Saver.
Go to System, then Power and battery > Turn Battery Saver Off.
Both features can temporarily suppress notifications.
Option 7: Repair the New Outlook app
