    Good day @Anon

The reason you’re no longer seeing the dropdown option to add a Planner plan or “Assigned to me” tasks to Outlook is because this feature was retired by Microsoft on January 19, 2026.

Previously, following Microsoft’s documentation: See your Planner schedule in Outlook calendar - Microsoft Support, you could click the dropdown arrow next to a plan name in Planner and select “Add Planner calendar to Outlook.” If the plan hadn’t been published yet, Planner would prompt you to publish it first, and then the calendar could be added to Outlook.

As of the retirement, that option has been completely removed from the Planner interface. In some tenants or older views, the option may still appear briefly, but if you try to use it, the publish or sync step will fail and return an error.   User's image

Since this is a user‑to‑user support forum, I’m simply sharing context and experience to help clarify the current product limitation, so you don’t spend time searching for an option that’s no longer available.

If you feel this is a feature that should have been kept or reconsidered, I strongly encourage you to share that feedback directly with the Microsoft product team through the official Planner · Community feedback portal. This is the best place to let them know how this change affects real users and everyday workflows.

I hope this helps clarify things, even if it’s not quite the answer you were hoping for. Thank you so much again for asking.

To add Planner tasks to Outlook calendar on a basic plan, use one of these supported options and checks.

    1. Confirm the plan type and feature limits
    • The Outlook calendar integration works only for basic plans and “Assigned to me” tasks in My Tasks.
    • It does not work for premium plans, To Do lists, or other My Tasks lists.
    1. Add a basic plan to Outlook calendar (from the plan board) If the plan is basic and the menu is available:
    2. Open the Planner plan.
    3. At the top of the Planner board, select the chevron next to the plan name to open the plan menu.
    4. Choose Add plan to Outlook calendar.
      • If this option is missing, the plan owner must enable the iCalendar feed first (see step 3).
    5. If the current user is a plan owner, select Publish, share with anyone to publish the plan to an iCalendar feed.
    6. Select Add to Outlook to open Outlook.
    7. In Outlook, on Subscribe from web, adjust Calendar name if needed and select Import.
    8. If “Add plan to Outlook calendar” is missing
    • Only plan owners can publish the plan to an iCalendar feed.
    • If the user is not an owner, ask a plan owner to:
      1. Open the plan.
      2. Use the chevron next to the plan name.
      3. Select Add plan to Outlook calendar.
      4. Choose Publish, share with anyone.
      5. Then select Add to Outlook and complete the subscription.
    • If the owner still does not see Add plan to Outlook calendar, the feature may not be enabled for that plan; in that case, use the “Assigned to me” method below as a workaround.
    1. Add “Assigned to me” tasks to Outlook calendar This works even when using My Tasks instead of the plan menu:
    2. In Planner, open My Tasks.
    3. Select Assigned to me to show tasks assigned to the user.
    4. Select the three-dot menu () at the top of the view.
    5. Select Add "Assigned to me" tasks to Outlook calendar.
    6. Choose Publish, share with anyone to create the iCalendar feed.
    7. Select Add to Outlook.
    8. In Outlook, on Subscribe from web, change Calendar name if desired and select Import.
    9. View Planner tasks in Outlook
    • In Outlook, under Other calendars, select the newly added Planner calendar.
    • Select a task to see a quick view, then View event for more details.
    • Use Open this task in Microsoft Planner to edit the task in Planner.
    1. Turn off calendar sync later (if needed) To stop sharing Planner tasks via iCalendar:
    2. Go back to the same Planner plan or Assigned to me view.
    3. Open the iCalendar feed settings again.
    4. Select Don't publish, keep private.
      • This must be done per plan; repeat for each plan where sync should be disabled.

If the drop-down plan menu still does not appear even when the user is an owner and on a basic plan, use the My Tasks → Assigned to me → Add to Outlook calendar path as the supported alternative.
