ToDo no longer open the panel on the right when clicking on the message icon for flagged emails. this allowed the user certain functions including open in outlook. Why has this been removed?

To make sure we are on the same page and I understand your concern correctly for appropriate information, you can send me the screenshot of this issue here in your reply.

Along the way, as I have tested in my Microsoft To Do in web version with my flagged email, I can still see the button to open in Outlook as below image. When I click on this button, it can open in Outlook accordingly.

You can try again in the web version to see if this issue is still persists.

It is difficult to supply a screen shot of something that does not happen. I have two accounts, the one with the problem is operating through a Citrix interface. The other account that I have not updated as yet is functioning correctly. I also had a problem with the left panel disappearing, but someone had found a work around (maximise window and then drag from the left) that worked. This does not work for the right-hand flagged email panel.

When I tested as in the above image, I used Microsoft Edge on Windows only. To double check where the issue is, you can use Windows or the normal web version via this link to see if the issue still persists.

You can just take a screenshot and copy and paste it here. It may not present the issue exactly, but based on it we can try to see what is happening at your end for further assistance.

I also took the screenshot again with the email notification of this thread in flagged email, and everything is still normal.

Thank you for your udpate.

As the first image is in Microsoft To Do app, I have checked again in my app and I see that when I click on the flagged email, the right panel still opens and has all the option that you has mentioned. Might I confirm when you clicked on the each flagged email and don't see any panel?

Because this issue works normally in the Microsoft To Do app on Windows and in the web version using the Microsoft Edge browser, I hope you can double-check to see if the issue is isolated in the Citrix interface and determine the root cause.

Clicking on the message icon in the flagged email list has no effect, so it is not possible to read the email or see the date of the email. The change has therefore made this function useless. The previous panel allowed many other features "Add to My Day, "remind Me", "Add the Date", etc. These functions are no longer available. When will they be returned?

The flagged-email experience in Microsoft To Do has changed so that flagged messages now appear as tasks directly in the Flagged email list inside To Do, rather than opening a separate right‑hand panel from the message icon.

Current behavior from the available documentation:

When email is flagged in Outlook (using an account hosted by Microsoft such as Outlook.com, Hotmail.com, Live.com, or a Microsoft‑hosted custom domain), it appears as a task in To Do under the Flagged email list.
To see these tasks, open To Do and either:
- Use the list menu and select Flagged email > Create, or
- Turn on the Flagged email list in To Do Settings.
Each flagged email appears as a task whose name is the email subject and whose detail view includes a preview of the email text.
From the task’s detail view, the original email is opened by selecting Open in Outlook.

So the supported way to get “Open in Outlook” and other actions for flagged mail is now via the Flagged email list and the task detail view, not via a separate right‑side panel triggered by a message icon.

The documentation does not state a reason for the removal of the previous panel UI; it only documents the current, supported workflow for working with flagged emails as tasks.
