how do I access excel and word in this account - I have a number of different accounts

Using any Microsoft account you may have, log into this link, do you find your Office licence or subscription listed there.

If not, go to the Payments and Billing section, are you able to find your Office purchase listed there.

To access Excel and Word when there are multiple accounts, first confirm which account actually owns the Microsoft 365 or Office license, then sign in with that account in the apps.

1. Identify which account has the license
   • Go to https://www.office.com and sign in with each of the accounts in turn.
   • For the account that shows an active Microsoft 365 or Office subscription under Services and subscriptions, that is the account to use with Excel and Word.
2. Check which account Office is using on the device
   • Open Word or Excel on the computer.
   • Select File > Account (or Office Account in some apps).
   • Under Product Information, check the email address shown; that is the account currently licensing the apps.
   • If this is not the correct account, choose Sign out (if available), then Sign In and enter the email and password for the account that has the subscription.
3. Sign in to Office apps (per device)
   • Windows:
     1. Open Word or Excel and open or create a document.
     2. Go to File > Account.
     3. Select Sign In and use the email and password for the licensed account (personal Microsoft account or work/school account, depending on the subscription).
   • macOS:
     1. Open Word (or another Office app).
     2. If prompted, select Sign In; if already editing a file, go to File > New from Template... > Sign In.
     3. Sign in with the account that owns the subscription.
   • iOS (iPhone/iPad):
     1. Open the Office or Excel/Word app.
     2. On the Account screen, tap Sign In.
     3. Enter the email and password for the account with the subscription.
4. If Excel or Word still won’t work
   • Confirm that the plan actually includes desktop apps. For example, Microsoft 365 Basic does not include desktop Word/Excel; it only provides web and mobile versions. In that case, use the web apps at https://www.office.com or upgrade to a plan that includes desktop apps.
5. Switching between multiple accounts
   • Office apps do not support being signed in with multiple accounts from the same Microsoft 365 organization at the same time. If there are several accounts from the same tenant, sign out of one before signing in with another.
