It's showing can't be installed at the same time:

  1. HomeStudentRetail
  2. O365HomePremRetail
  3. ProPlus2021Volume

I've tried and uninstalled other existing software.

    Dear @Anvesh Deo,

Thank you for your update. I’m sorry to hear that it’s still not working.

I really want to help you more directly, and I wish I could access your device or check this for you myself. Unfortunately, as a forum moderator, I’m only able to guide you based on what you can see and share from your side.

To help me better understand the issue, could you please let me know how it is not working?

    • Which step did you try, and what happened when you ran it?
    • Did you receive any error message? If so, what exactly did it say?
    • Were you able to run the uninstall tool successfully, or did it stop at a certain point?
    • After restarting, were you able to reinstall Office, or did the same issue continue?
    • Also, did you check Control Panel > Programs and Features to see whether any Office versions are still listed there? If yes, please let me know which entries you still see.

Even a short description of what you are seeing will help me narrow this down and provide more targeted guidance.

Thank you again for your patience and understanding, I look forward to your reply.

    Dear @Anvesh Deo,

Thank you for your update. That helps clarify the situation.

If the tool is showing support options only for older Office versions, it does sound like there may still be an older Office installation or leftover components on the device.

Could you please try running the uninstall command as Administrator to see if it helps?

    1. Select Start, type cmd
    2. Right-click Command Prompt and choose Run as administrator
    3. Navigate to the folder where you extracted the Get Help command-line files
    4. Run the following command:
GetHelpCmd.exe -S OfficeScrubScenario -AcceptEula -OfficeVersion All

This command is intended to remove all detected Office versions from the device.

After it finishes, please restart the computer and then check whether Office is still listed under Control Panel > Programs and Features.

If you still see any Office entries there after running the command, please let me know exactly which ones are listed, and I’ll do my best to guide you further. Since I cannot access your device from the forum side, the more detail you can share about what you see, the more accurately I can assist.

Thank you again for your patience and understanding throughout this troubleshooting process. I look forward to your reply.

    Dear @Anvesh Deo,

Good day, and thank you for clearly explaining your situation. As a forum moderator, I genuinely wish I could directly access your account or delve into the backend systems to investigate and fix this for you. However, our role here is limited to providing general guidance and solutions that can be applied by users. From your description and my research, you have remnants of different Office editions installed at the same time:

    • HomeStudentRetail (Home & Student)
    • O365HomePremRetail (Microsoft 365 Home/Personal)
    • ProPlus2021Volume (Office 2021 Professional Plus Volume)

These versions are not designed to coexist on the same system and can lead to installation conflicts and activation issues. Please follow these steps to completely remove all Office versions and reinstall cleanly:

    1. Download the command-line version of the Office uninstall tool: Office uninstall with the command line version of Get Help - Microsoft 365 | Microsoft Learn
    2. In the downloaded .zip file, extract the files to a folder that you can access
    3. On your computer, select Start, enter cmd, and then press Enter to open a Command Prompt window. If required, right-click Command Prompt and select Run as administrator.
    4. At the command prompt, navigate to the folder in which you extracted the files
    5. Run Get Help
    6. Restart your computer when finished.
    7. After restarting, install only the single Office version you intend to use

I hope this information is helpful. Please follow these steps and let me know if it works for you. If not, we can work together to resolve this. Thank you for your patience and understanding. If you have any questions or need further assistance, please feel free to share them in the comments so I can continue to support you. I'm looking forward to your reply.

The error occurs because incompatible Office products are being installed together. In this case:

    • HomeStudentRetail (perpetual retail)
    • O365HomePremRetail (Microsoft 365 subscription)
    • ProPlus2021Volume (volume license)

These cannot all be installed at the same time, and some of them cannot coexist on the same device.

    To fix the issue:

    1. Install or repair only one Office product at a time.
    2. Decide which product to keep:
      • If using Microsoft 365 (O365HomePremRetail), do not install ProPlus2021Volume on the same device.
      • If using ProPlus2021Volume, do not install Microsoft 365 or conflicting retail versions alongside it.
    3. Fully remove any unwanted or conflicting Office versions:
      • Uninstall them from “Apps & Features” / “Programs and Features”.
      • Ensure there is no mix of Click-to-Run and MSI-based Office of the same version.
    4. After cleanup, run the installer again for only the single Office product that should be on the machine.
    5. If using the Office Deployment Tool (ODT), generate a clean configuration file that includes only the one product to be installed. For help with creating a valid deployment configuration, use config.office.com.

If the error persists, repeat the uninstall of all Office products, reboot, and then install only the desired edition.
