Why after more that 25 years selling Windows, why is the Zoom feature not lockable. I find it very frustrating and counter productive to keep having to reset the page.

It seems to happen most in Facebook. It just goes frantic. I am as far as I know not doing anything special, just scrolling. I go to the 3 dots in the top right and adjust the zoom back to 100%. It seems to like 300% and 500% magnification.

    Hi Chris Talliss,

I completely understand how frustrating that can feel, especially when something as basic as zoom keeps changing and disrupts your workflow. I appreciate you sharing your experience.

To make sure I’m pointing you in the right direction, could you help clarify a bit more about the type of “zoom” you’re referring to? In Windows, there are actually a few different zoom behaviors, and the solution depends on which one is being affected.

A few quick questions that will really help narrow this down:

    • When you say the zoom keeps changing, is this happening:
      • In a web browser (like Edge/Chrome pages)?
      • Across the entire screen (everything looks larger or smaller)?
      • Or when using the Windows Magnifier tool (the accessibility zoom feature)?
    • Does the zoom reset when you:
      • Switch pages or apps?
      • Restart your computer?
      • Or even while you’re actively using the device?
    • Are you using a touchpad, touchscreen, or external mouse? (Sometimes pinch or scroll gestures can change zoom unintentionally.)
    • Does this happen in all apps, or only in a specific one?

While my initial response may not fully resolve the issue, I truly appreciate your cooperation as we work together toward identifying the most effective solution. Thank you so much for your understanding.
