    Hi! Let me help you.

Please hover your mouse over the sound icon in the lower-right corner, then right-click it and select Troubleshoot Sound. Let the troubleshooter finish its task, then this should either resolve the problem or display an error message.

If that doesn't work, we need to remove the Audio driver from the Device Manager and restart the PC to reinstall it.

Here are the steps to completely remove a Device from your computer.

Step 1. Use the Windows key + X shortcut.

    Step 2. Select Device Manager.

Step 3. Expand the entry Sound, Video, and Game Controllers. Right-click the problematic device, which is either Realtek Audio, or AMD High-definition Audio, or High-Definition Audio, depending on the audio device installed in your PC, and select Uninstall device.

Step 4. You need to check the option Delete the driver software for this device and then click the Uninstall button.

    Step 5. Reboot the computer.

After the reboot, please see if the problem is fixed.

If that still does not work, please visit the support website of your laptop or desktop and then download and install the latest Audio driver, then restart the PC.

Try these steps in order to improve the unclear/poor sound in Windows:

    1. Check the correct output device
    • Select the Speakers icon on the taskbar.
    • Select the arrow next to the volume slider (tooltip: Select a sound output).
    • Choose the speakers/headphones actually being used and test audio.
    1. Check hardware and volume controls
    • Make sure speaker/headphone cables are firmly plugged in and in the correct jack.
    • Confirm speakers/headphones are powered on.
    • Turn off any mute buttons and raise all volume controls (Windows, speakers, and app volume).
    • If using USB audio, try a different USB port.
    • If headphones are plugged in, unplug them and test the speakers.
    1. Use Volume mixer to check app volumes (Windows 11)
    • Select Start > Settings > System > Sound.
    • Select Volume mixer.
    • Ensure System and the specific app (e.g., browser/YouTube) are not muted and volume sliders are turned up.
    1. Turn off audio enhancements
    • Select Start > Settings > System > Sound.
    • Under Output, select the audio device in use.
    • In Advanced settings, set Audio enhancements to Off.
    • Test the sound again.
    1. Try a different audio format
    • In the search box on the taskbar, type control panel and open it.
    • Go to Hardware and Sound > Sound.
    • On the Playback tab, right-click the Default Device > Properties.
    • On the Advanced tab, under Default Format, choose a different format, select OK, and test. Try a few formats if needed.
    1. Update or reinstall audio drivers
    • Open Device Manager (search for device manager on the taskbar).
    • Expand Sound, video and game controllers.
    • Right-click the audio device (e.g., Realtek/High Definition Audio) > Update driver > Search automatically for updated driver software.
    • If the problem continues, right-click the device > Uninstall device, check Delete the driver software for this device if available, then restart the PC so Windows reinstalls the driver.

If the issue started after a recent update and persists, trying the generic High Definition Audio Device driver (via Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer) can sometimes improve sound quality.
