The error code B87E68C2 does not indicate a problem with Windows, it indicates a fatal system or firmware error on HP printers.

Completely uninstall your printer, then restart your PC.

Go to the support page for your printer on the HP website to download and manually install the version of printer drivers, firmware and associated software they provide for your printer model.

Follow these steps on the Windows 11 PC and printer to restore printing:

    1. Check printer status and connections
    • Make sure the HP 9010 is powered on, has paper, and no error messages (paper jam, low ink, cover open).
    • If using USB, verify the cable is firmly connected to both printer and PC and plugged into the correct port on the printer.
    • If using Wi‑Fi, confirm the printer and PC are on the same network SSID.
    1. Verify Windows sees the printer correctly
    • On Windows 11, go to Settings → Bluetooth & devices → Printers & scanners.
    • Select the HP 9010.
      • If there are multiple entries for the same printer, remove them all: choose the printer → RemoveYes.
    1. Reinstall the printer and drivers
    • Download and install the latest HP driver/software package for the HP 9010 from HP’s support site.
    • After installing the HP software, go back to Settings → Bluetooth & devices → Printers & scanners and select Add device / Add a printer or scanner.
    • Let Windows detect and add the HP 9010 again.
    1. Restart the Print Spooler service
    • Press Windows + R, type services.msc, press Enter.
    • In Services, find Print Spooler.
    • Right‑click Print SpoolerRestart.
    • After it restarts, try printing a Windows test page from Settings → Bluetooth & devices → Printers & scanners → [HP 9010] → Printer properties → Print Test Page.
    1. Clear stuck print jobs (if jobs are queued but not printing)
    • Stop the Print Spooler as above (right‑click Print SpoolerStop).
    • In File Explorer, go to C:\Windows\System32\spool\PRINTERS and delete all files in that folder (do not delete the folder itself).
    • Start the Print Spooler again (right‑click Print SpoolerStart).
    • Try printing again.
    1. If the printer still will not print from any device
    • Since other HP‑specific issues can be caused by HP drivers or services, ensure the HP software is fully updated and, if necessary, contact HP support for device‑side firmware or panel issues (such as the missing PRINT icon being replaced by SHORTCUTS).
