The “Unexpected error… please contact site support” message when trying to schedule a Microsoft certification exam after the address step is typically caused by an issue with the Pearson VUE account, often a Pearson VUE–wide block (for example, after multiple failed payment attempts).
To resolve this and complete exam booking (for PL-300, PL-400, DP-750, etc.), the required action is:
- Contact Pearson VUE support directly
- Use the Pearson VUE contact options for Microsoft exams so support can check the account status and error on their side.
- In similar cases, Pearson VUE support has confirmed an
ERROR_VUE_WIDE_BLOCKon the account and removed the block, after which scheduling worked normally. - Another reported case with the same “Unexpected error” message was also fixed in a few minutes by chatting with Pearson VUE support.
- If the issue persists after contacting Pearson VUE
- Open a ticket through Microsoft Certification Support so a moderator can review the certification profile and coordinate if needed.
Browser troubleshooting (clearing cache, trying different browsers, using Edge/Windows 11, etc.) does not resolve this error when it is caused by an account block; only Pearson VUE support can lift it.
