system running into error

my word is always saying sorry! but word has run into an error that is preventing it from working correcting.... what do i do?

1. Are you using a Microsoft 365 subscription, or do you have a one time purchase version such as Microsoft Office 2024?
2. Are you signed in to the same Microsoft account in your Office apps that was used to purchase or activate the license?

Please open Word, then go to File > Account.

• Does the signed in Microsoft account match the one that owns the subscription or license?
• What exact Office version and product name are shown there?

3. Please also go to: https://account.microsoft.com/services

Can you confirm if your license or subscription appears there and is listed as active?

In the meantime, please try the following:

• Open any Office app (Word, Excel, etc.), sign out of your account, then sign back in using the correct Microsoft account to refresh the license.

• Go to File > Account > Update Options > Update Now to ensure your Office apps are fully updated.

• Go to Control Panel > Programs and Features > Microsoft 365/Office > Right click > Change, then run Quick Repair first, if the issue persists, run Online Repair.

Follow these steps in order until Word works again:

1. Make sure Office is fully updated
   • Open any Office app that still opens (for example Excel).
   • Go to File > Account (or Office Account).
   • Under Product Information, select Update Options > Update Now.
2. Run an Online Repair of Office
   • Close all Office apps.
   • Open Settings in Windows.
   • Go to Apps > Installed apps (or Apps & features).
   • Find Microsoft Office (or Microsoft 365 Apps), select it, then choose Modify.
   • Select Online Repair, then Repair.
   • Let the process complete and then restart Word.
   The built‑in “Repair now” dialog in Word is often not sufficient; the full Online Repair is more thorough and is the recommended fix.
3. If Online Repair does not fix it
   • Uninstall Office from Settings > Apps.
   • Restart the PC (use Restart, not Shut down).
   • Sign in to the Microsoft account where the subscription or license is registered and reinstall Office from there.

If Word still shows the same error after these steps, repeat the Online Repair and ensure Windows and Office updates have all been installed successfully.
