something changed with viewing font

something changed and now when I start a new email, it looks like the font is set at about 36pt but really it's 11. It just LOOKS like it's HUGE. Granted my eyes are over 50 but I don't need that large of type. I just want it to go back to the way it was. How do I do that? I've already tried the stationary font and it didn't do anything.

    Hi Teresa Martin

I understand that when you compose a new email in Outlook on the web, the text suddenly appears much larger than normal even though the font size is set correctly.

    First, could you please confirm:

    • Which browser are you using (Edge, Chrome, etc.)?
    • Does the text also look oversized when reading emails, or only when composing?

In the meantime, please try the following:

1, Check browser display scaling (not just zoom)

Even with zoom at 100%, the page can still look enlarged if the system or browser scaling is higher.

    For a quick test:

    • Press “Ctrl + 0” on your keyboard while Outlook is open (this forces zoom reset)
    • Then press “Ctrl + -” once or twice to see if the compose text scales down

2, Test in another browser or InPrivate window

This helps determine if the issue is caused by a browser setting or extension:

    • Open Outlook in an InPrivate/Incognito window
    • Or open it in another browser (for example, Edge ↔ Chrome)
    • Start a new email and check the text size

If it looks normal there, the issue is likely caused by:

    • A browser extension
    • A cached setting in your current browser

3, Reset Outlook on the web view settings

Sometimes display-related preferences get stuck. Try:

    • Go to “Settings (gear icon)” in Outlook web
    • Select “General” > “Appearance”
    • Switch to a different theme, then switch back

Please feel free to let me know how it goes after trying these steps. Thank you for your time and understanding.
