I am having a hard time getting a developer account approved.

Can someone please help me - [Moderator note: Personally Identifiable Information removed].com ( personal account )
I have created a new domain and tried to register - whatever I do, I keep going in circles.

I have tried with an account that is a personal account but was deemed ineligible - even though I have a VS subscription and Azure account.
I have created a new domain and tried it that way - no luck.
I have tried with a GMail account - which I get the closest - but my phone number is tied to an old unused account which I don't know how to clear.
I just want to build a Teams plugin so bad and need the Dev Sandbox to get it going!!

How do I clear up any old accounts that are using my phone number>?

May I know if you have already tried deleting the old profile, including the phone number?

If yes, in theory, deleting the profile will remove the existing Developer account and release the associated phone number. After the profile is deleted, you should be able to sign up again using your work account and verify it with the same phone number.

However, please note that there is typically a 60-day waiting period before a deleted phone number becomes fully available for reuse. This waiting period is part of a policy designed to help prevent misuse of the program.

Is there a way to delete old accounts?
How do I find the old accounts that may be using my phone number??

Using a different phone number is not a good solution.

Currently, the only approach I’ve found to recover a username associated with your phone number is through the standard recovery process. However, I haven’t been able to locate the exact “Recover your username” section on my end. It’s possible that this option has been updated or changed over time, so you may want to verify on your side to see if it is still available.

Additionally, for the Microsoft 365 E5 Developer Program, there isn’t a supported method to immediately delete an account and release the associated phone number. Typically, there is a 60-day waiting period before the phone number becomes available for reuse. This process is automated and based on internal algorithms and telemetry related to your activity within the program and your Microsoft 365 E5 developer subscription.

I understand that registering a new phone number may not be the most convenient option, and I completely understand your concern. I sincerely apologize for the inconvenience this may cause. At the moment, this remains the fastest and most effective way to rejoin the program and continue your progress in cases where the account associated with the current phone number cannot be clearly identified, and to avoid the 60-day waiting period.
