There is no email associated with the bogus calendar entries. Outlook calendar does not allow me to decline or delete.

It sounds like you are being targeted with Spam Calendar Events.

This is a know issue. Microsoft is aware of the problem but there is currently no fix. Unless you are in an IT Managed Environment there is nothing you can do to stop them.

I understand you are experiencing unwanted calendar items being added to your Outlook.com / Hotmail calendar. I’m happy to help. Please reply with: 

• Are the items coming from normal emails or meeting invitations? 
• Do you see the same sender/domain, or does it change? 
• Do you have any extra calendars listed in the left pane? 

Meanwhile, please follow these steps:  

Step 1: Block unwanted senders or domains 

If the events originate from emails: 

• Go to Settings > Mail > Junk email 
• Open Blocked senders and domains 
• Add the sender’s email address or entire domain 
• Save your changes 

Blocked senders will have their messages moved directly to Junk Email. 

Step 2: Report suspicious messages 

Instead of only deleting the emails: 

• Select the message 
• Choose Report > Phishing (or similar option) 

Step 3: Turn off “Events from email” 

Outlook.com can automatically create calendar items from emails. 

To disable this: 

• Go to Settings 
• Select Calendar > Events from email 
• Turn off automatic event creation 

Step 4: Check for extra or shared calendars 

Unwanted events may come from another calendar: 

• Open your Calendar view 
• Check the left pane for additional calendars 
• Right-click any unfamiliar calendar 
• Select Remove 

Step 5: Block at the domain level (if needed) 

If the sender keeps changing addresses: 

• Block the entire domain (for example: @example.com) 
• This is more effective than blocking individual addresses 

Step 6: Keep junk filtering enabled

Make sure spam filtering is active: 

• Suspicious emails will be automatically moved to Junk Email 
• This helps prevent new unwanted calendar items

Unsolicited events are typically created by Outlook’s “Events from email” feature or by shared/published calendars that were added to the calendar view. Disable automatic event creation and review shared calendars to stop them appearing.

1. Turn off “Events from email” in Outlook on the web / Outlook.com
   1. Select the Settings gear at the top of Outlook on the web.
   2. Select View all Outlook settings.
   3. Go to Calendar > Events from email (or Calendar > Automatic processing > Events from email, depending on layout).
   4. Choose Don’t add events to my calendar from email.
      • This stops Outlook from automatically creating calendar items from messages sent to the Hotmail address (flights, reservations, package deliveries, etc.).
   5. If preferred, instead of turning it off completely, clear the check boxes for event types that are being abused.
2. Check automatic processing settings
   1. In Calendar settings, under Automatic processing, verify Events from email is set the way desired:
      • Don’t add events to my calendar from email to fully stop automatic additions.
      • Or Automatically add events to my calendar from email but only for selected event types.
3. Review shared or published calendars
   1. In Calendar view, look under My calendars and other calendar groups.
   2. If a calendar was added (for example, from a sharing invitation) and is generating unwanted events, right‑click it and remove it from the view.
   3. If a personal calendar was published or shared and is being misused, open Settings > Calendar > Shared calendars and adjust or remove sharing/publishing as needed.

After these changes, new unsolicited events tied to the Hotmail address should no longer be created automatically. Existing unwanted events can be deleted manually from the calendar.
