Hi,

I have tried all the options i.e. Quit OneDrive, Unlink, Uninstalling, but the sync issue is not resolved.

I request you to take remote access and solve this issue at earliest.

This issue I am facing since last 2 months.

    Hi @Viren Pasad

As per your latest updated comments and pictures represents. you are trying to connect with your friend shared folder.

    • please make sure your friend removed your rights or not.
    • might be folder restricted or removed.
    • when you connected the folder may be required admin rights.

    Thanks.

    Hi, Viren Pasad

If OneDrive has not synced for 2 months even after reinstalling, the problem may not be the app installation itself. It can be caused by a stuck sync database, one bad file, storage issue, old sync client, or a network/account connection problem.

Besides the solutions provided by the Q&A Assist, here are some suggestions you can try:

First, sign in to OneDrive on the web and check whether your files are visible there. If they are visible online, your data is likely safe and the problem is mainly with the PC sync client. Also check that your OneDrive storage and your PC drive both still have free space.

Next, try a full OneDrive reset, not just quit or reinstall. Press Windows + R, paste this command, then press Enter:

    %localappdata%\Microsoft\OneDrive\onedrive.exe /reset

If OneDrive does not open again by itself, search for OneDrive from the Start menu and open it manually. This does not delete your cloud files, but it rebuilds the local sync settings.

After that, select the OneDrive cloud icon near the clock and check View sync problems. If it shows a specific file, move that file out of the OneDrive folder temporarily. Large ZIP/video files, Outlook PST/OST files, hidden temporary files, very long file paths, or special characters in filenames can keep sync stuck.

If this is a work or school OneDrive connected to SharePoint, it is recommended that you also clear the old Office Upload Center cache if that app exists on your PC, then try syncing again.

Finally, test once using a different network, such as a mobile hotspot, and disconnect any VPN/proxy during the test. Also make sure Windows and OneDrive are fully updated. If you see the old OneDrive for Business sync app, the newer OneDrive sync client should be used instead.

Thank you for your patience in reading, I hope this information has been helpful to you.

Remote access cannot be taken, but there are several additional troubleshooting steps that can be followed beyond quitting, unlinking, and uninstalling OneDrive.

    1. Confirm sync is allowed for the library/site (for OneDrive for work or school / SharePoint libraries):
      • If a SharePoint administrator has disabled syncing, the Sync button will be missing in the library, or an error appears:

Options set for this library by your administrator prohibit users from syncing it to a local computer.

      • If not an administrator, contact the SharePoint admin to enable syncing.
      • If a site admin:
        1. Browse to the SharePoint site.
        2. Select the Settings gear → Site Settings.
        3. Under Search, select Search and Offline Availability.
        4. Under Offline Client Availability, select YesOK.
      • If a library admin:
        1. Browse to the library.
        2. Select the Library tab → Library Settings (or Settings gear → Library settings).
        3. Under General Settings, select Advanced Settings.
        4. Under Offline Client Availability, select YesOK.
    2. Confirm or correct credentials (for work/school libraries):
      • Sign in to the SharePoint Online site and select Keep me signed in.
      • Ensure the same Microsoft 365 credentials used for the library are used in OneDrive.
    3. Repair OneDrive for work or school or Office installation:
      • Instead of only uninstalling/reinstalling, run an Office repair as described in the Office repair article referenced in the OneDrive troubleshooting guide. Repairing Office/OneDrive can resolve sync issues without a full reinstall.
    4. Check for other sync causes and reset connections if needed:
      • There can be multiple causes such as invalid characters in file names or outdated sync apps. Use the guidance in the OneDrive sync repair article to:
        • Verify setup steps in Sync files with OneDrive in Windows.
        • Stop syncing the problematic library and re-establish the connection:
          1. Right-click the OneDrive icon in the Windows notification area → Stop syncing a folder….
          2. Select the folder/library → Stop syncingYesOK.
          3. Reconfigure sync for that library; a new folder will be created (possibly with a number suffix like 1, 2, etc.).
    5. If still not resolved:
      • For work or school accounts, use the self-help options on the Microsoft 365 Community site or have the IT administrator open a support incident with Microsoft Online Services support as suggested in the troubleshooting guide.

For a persistent 2‑month issue, especially with work/school libraries, involving the SharePoint or Microsoft 365 administrator to check site/library sync settings and open a support incident is recommended.
