Hi Thomas,

I found the solution for this issue. In my case, the last time I tried to schedule the exam, the payment failed, which resulted in my account getting locked.

I reached out to the Pearson VUE team, and they have now unlocked my account. The issue is resolved from my side.

You can also try checking with them if you are facing the same issue.

Thanks!

I am able to log in to my Pearson VUE account manually without any issues, so I don't think the problem is related to the account access issue you mentioned.

Could there be another reason for this error?

The error message shown when clicking Submit on the Transfer to Pearson VUE page is typically related to an issue with the Pearson VUE account or scheduling system, not with the browser or device.

Based on similar reported cases, the most common cause is that the Pearson VUE account has been blocked (often after multiple failed payment attempts). In these cases, retrying later or changing browser does not resolve the issue; the block must be removed by Pearson VUE support.

    Recommended steps:

    1. Check if the issue is persistent
      • Try again after some time; if the same “Unexpected error… please contact site support” message appears consistently, proceed to the next step.
    2. Contact Pearson VUE support directly
      • Use Pearson VUE’s Microsoft support/contact options to have the account checked.
      • Explain that the error occurs immediately after clicking Submit on the Transfer to Pearson VUE page when scheduling a Microsoft certification exam and that the site shows the Unexpected error message.
      • If the account is blocked (for example, due to multiple failed payments), request that they remove the block.
    3. If needed, open a case with Microsoft Certification Support
      • If Pearson VUE confirms everything is fine on their side but the error persists, open a case with Microsoft Credentials/Certification support so they can investigate the scheduling flow from the Microsoft Learn side.

Once Pearson VUE removes any account block or resolves the backend issue, scheduling should work again without the unexpected error.
