Hello.

I would like to take the "GitHub Copilot" certification exam:
https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/credentials/certifications/github-copilot/?practice-assessment-type=certification
If I understand correctly, I need the following two courses to be completed to take the exam:
GitHub Copilot Fundamentals Part 1 of 2

GitHub Copilot Fundamentals Part 2 of 2

When I check the "Prepare for the exam" section of the above link, I see the "Continue course" button active.

When I click on it, I see the following:

After clicking on the "Continue" button below the first course, I get this:

Meaning, I did not get all the XP for "GitHub Copilot Fundamentals Part 1 of 2" (as the XP badge is not green), I can't continue with the course (or I missed a way how!?), but I have completed all the modules.

Could you please advice?

Is it mandatory to complete these courses before taking the exam?

Thanks,

Marek

It is not mandatory to complete the Learn modules in order to book an exam

Completion of the “GitHub Copilot Fundamentals Part 1 of 2” and “Part 2 of 2” learning paths isn’t mandatory to sit the GitHub Copilot certification exam. They’re recommended preparation resources, not enforced prerequisites.

If all modules in Part 1 show as completed and all module assessments are passed, but the overall learning path still shows less than 100% or the XP badge isn’t green, this is a progress‑tracking issue in Microsoft Learn and doesn’t block exam registration. The exam can be scheduled and taken as long as the registration system allows booking, regardless of the XP status of the learning paths.
