Using Outlook for iOS for personal email and calendar management
I understand that you want the iPad Mail app to use your @outlook.com alias instead of showing your original @live.com address. Please note that this is a user-to-user forum, so contributors do not have access to your account settings, but this behavior is usually related to the primary alias set on the Microsoft account.
You need to check whether the @outlook.com address is set as the primary alias:
- Go to Manage how you sign in to Microsoft.
- Sign in with your Microsoft account.
- Under account aliases, select Make primary next to the @outlook.com address.
- After that, remove the account from iPad Mail, restart the iPad, then add it again using Settings > Apps > Mail > Mail Accounts > Add Account > Microsoft Exchange.
For reference, Microsoft explains that aliases share the same inbox, password, contacts, and account settings, and the primary alias is the address used to identify the account on Microsoft services: Add or remove an email alias in Outlook.com. The iOS Mail setup steps are also listed here: Set up an Outlook account on the iOS Mail app.
Please do not remove the @live.com alias unless you are certain, because removing a Microsoft-domain alias such as @live.com, @hotmail.com, @outlook.com, or @msn.com can permanently delete that alias.
If the @outlook.com address is already the primary alias but Apple Mail still displays the @live.com address, this may be due to how the iOS Mail app reads and displays the Microsoft account identity. In that case, using the Outlook for iOS app would be the better option if you need more control over the sending address.
I hope this clarifies the next steps.
