How do I remove "Quick Access" locations from the left pane of Excel's Open dialog box? I know how to pin locations, but my favorites only appear in 'Show More,' where pinning isn't an option.

Hi @Al LaCroix ,

Welcome to the Microsoft Q&A forum.

Excel Quick Access depends on OneDrive to display locations. Please follow the steps below:

Step 1: Go to onedrive.live.com

Step 2: In the left pane, locate the Quick Access section

Step 3: Click More places to display all available locations

Step 4: Select the location you want to display

Step 5: Click Pin to Quick Access

After that, please wait for the system to complete the synchronization process (approximately 5–10 minutes, depending on your network environment). The location you selected with “Pin to Quick Access” will then appear in Excel.

Your suggestion was helpful, though not the definitive solution to my problem. I have previously pinned the locations I want, but only for one of the three OneDrive accounts I use. The unwanted locations are all associated with a corporate account that I use infrequently. None of those locations are pinned, and all but one are in 'Recent', one is in 'Your Teams'.

How can I make a specific account's Quick Access (QA) a priority over another, or

How can I remove the locations from the QA in the infrequently used account?

Hi @Al LaCroix ,

To prioritize displaying a frequently used account instead of a less frequently used one, you can try signing out of the less-used account in Office applications and OneDrive.

This will help push the information of your frequently used account to the top.

After the system has recognized this preference, you can sign back in to the work account that you use less often.

Thank you! Your final instruction to log out of the account with the unwanted locations resolved my issue. I logged back into that account, and its locations show up below my pinned locations. If the problem shows up again, I hope I remember the fix.

An important note: I signed out of the account within Excel. A prompt stated that I would be signed out of all Office apps and would need to exit them for the change to take effect. I did not log out of OneDrive for the lower-priority account.
