Building and customizing solutions using Microsoft 365 Copilot APIs and tools
Thank you for posting your question in the Microsoft Q&A forum.
Regarding the issue where Copilot returns the message “Something went wrong – try again”, based on our current checks and reports, this appears to be a known service issue affecting Microsoft 365 Copilot Chat. I’ve also tested this on my end and observed the same behavior.
- Summary of Impact: Users of Microsoft 365 Copilot Chat are unable to submit prompts. When they attempt to do so, the service fails and returns a generic “Something went wrong.” error message, preventing normal use of Copilot Chat functionality. The issue is currently under active investigation and remains unresolved.
- Impact Time: Start: Monday, June 15, 2026, at 06:12 UTC. End: Ongoing (incident not yet resolved as of the latest update).
- Scope of Impact: The incident impacts Microsoft 365 Copilot Chat. Affected users in the impacted organization cannot successfully submit prompts and instead receive an error message. Current communications indicate impact is less than 50 percent of users, but the exact number and geographic distribution are still being investigated and may be updated as the investigation continues.
The only channel that connects directly to the engineering and service teams is the Microsoft 365 Admin Center. For this reason, I strongly recommend contacting your Microsoft 365 administrator and asking them to report the issue through the Admin Center, as this helps Microsoft track, prioritize, and investigate service-related problems more effectively.
Please contact your admin to report the issue in the Microsoft admin center.
- Go to Microsoft 365 Admin Center
- Navigate to Service Health
- Select Report an issue and submit the details
Additionally, you may also submit the issue directly through the “Report a problem” feature within the product, and include screenshots or more detailed information to help with the investigation.
Thank you for your patience and understanding while this issue is being addressed.
