    Hi,

Please try clearing your browser’s cache and cookies, then sign out of your account and sign back in. If the issue continues, try using a different browser or device, as this can help rule out temporary browser-related issues that may be affecting the payment process.

If the issue still persists, another possible cause may be a region mismatch. If your bank has confirmed that there are no issues with your credit card, please ensure that the country or region on your Microsoft account matches the country or region associated with your payment method and billing address. A mismatch between these details can cause payments to be declined.

You can review and update your account information here: https://support.microsoft.com/account-billing/change-your-country-or-region-in-microsoft-store-5895e006-34f4-10f7-16b1-999e40adb048

Then follow the steps in the article below to update your Microsoft account payment method: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/account-billing/update-a-microsoft-account-payment-method-2ca44141-c10d-a693-7ea6-3a22f5213283

If the issue persists after trying all of the steps above, I recommend contacting Microsoft Billing Support directly, as they have access to the necessary tools and resources to investigate payment-related issues further.

    Click this link: https://support.microsoft.com/contactus/

Sign in to your Microsoft account.

Select Microsoft 365 > Click 'Get home support'.

Type "Chat with an agent" from the text field and press Enter.

Click "Contact support" at the bottom.

Select the product you need help with.

Follow the prompts to connect with a live agent or request a call back.

The error PaymentAuthenticationVerificationFailed when trying to redeem or renew a Microsoft 365 subscription is typically caused by a problem with the payment method or required payment authentication.

Based on similar resolved cases, the most effective fix is to change or update the payment method on the Microsoft account, then try the redemption/renewal again.

    Use these steps:

    1. Go to the Microsoft account Payment & billing page:
    2. In the Pay settings section for the subscription, select Change how you pay or Fix how you pay.
    3. Either:
      • Update the existing card (expiry date, CVV, billing address), or
      • Add a different payment method and set it as the active one.
    4. Save the changes, then retry redeeming the product key or renewing the subscription.

If the error persists after updating/changing the payment method, contact the bank or card issuer to confirm that:

    • Online recurring payments to Microsoft are allowed, and
    • Any required strong customer authentication (multi‑factor authentication) has been completed successfully.

If the bank confirms everything is fine but the error continues, contact Microsoft Support for account‑specific investigation.
