    Hi,

Do you have any other verification methods linked to the account, such as a phone number or an alternate email address?

On the page where it asks for a verification code, click "Show more verification methods" and send the code to another available method, if one is listed.

If you do not have any other verification methods available, and since this is a work account, you will need to contact your organization's IT department. They can verify your identity and help reset your authentication methods or restore access to your account.

Unfortunately, neither Microsoft Support nor the Microsoft Community members can bypass your organization's security policies or modify authentication methods for a work or school account. Only your organization's administrator has the necessary permissions to do so.

    Dear @Castaneda, Anthony,

I understand how frustrating it is to be locked out of your work account because the authenticator app requires the very login you are trying to verify. This loop usually happens when the Microsoft Authenticator app hasn't been fully registered or lost its connection to your account.

Because this is a work email, your account is managed by your organization's IT department or Microsoft 365 Administrator. I recommend the following steps to resolve this immediately:

Step 1: Check for Alternative Verification Methods

When you see the prompt to enter the code from your app, look closely at the login screen for a link that says "Sign in another way" or "I can't use my Microsoft Authenticator app right now."

If your account has a backup method configured, you may be able to choose to receive a verification code via a text message (SMS) or a phone call instead.

Step 2: Contact your Organization's IT Helpdesk (Required for Reset)

If you do not see an alternative sign-in option, you must contact your company's IT Administrator or Helpdesk. As a regular user, you cannot bypass or reset 2-step verification on your own once you are locked out. Your IT Admin needs to perform a quick 2-minute fix in the Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD) portal:

    1. They sign in to the Admin center > Microsoft Entra admin center as at least an Authentication Administrator. They will locate your user account under Users > All Users.
    2. Go to Authentication methods.
    3. Click Require re-register multifactor authentication.

This will clear the old, stuck app session and safely prompt you to set up the Microsoft Authenticator app from scratch the next time you log in.

For more detailed information, you or your administrator can refer to the official Manage authentication methods for Microsoft Entra multifactor authentication - Microsoft Entra ID |…

Please let me know if your admin needs further technical assistance with this process!
