A shared Outlook calendar has disappeared on my Win 11 computer. It is not on the calendar list. It is visible and functional on my iPhone so it is obviously still being successfully shared. How do I get it back on my PC?

    Hi

I understand that a shared Outlook calendar disappeared from classic Outlook on your Windows 11 PC, but it still works on your iPhone. I am happy to help. Please confirm:

    • Whether this is a personal Outlook.com calendar or a Microsoft 365 / Exchange shared calendar.
    • Whether it appears in Outlook on the web.
    • Whether it appears under Shared Calendars after running Outlook.exe /resetnavpane.
    • Whether you are using classic Outlook only, or whether new Outlook is also installed.

Meanwhile, please try these checks if your account is personal:

    • Check that the calendar is not just hidden
    • Open the shared calendar again from classic Outlook
      • In Calendar, select Home > Add Calendar > Open Shared Calendar.
      • Enter the name of the person who shared the calendar, then select OK.
      • If permission is no longer available, Outlook will prompt you to send a permission request to the calendar owner.
    • If it still does not appear, reset the Outlook navigation pane
    • Check Shared Calendar Improvements
    • Test in Outlook on the web

Please also check whether the shared calendar appears in Outlook on the web. If it appears there but not in classic Outlook, the issue may be related to the local Outlook client view or sync on the PC.

Please tell me how it goes. If the problem persists, please don’t hesitate to reply to this thread and I will be happy to help. Have a lovely day!

To restore the missing shared calendar on the Windows 11 PC, use the Outlook desktop client to remove and re-add the shared calendar so it upgrades to the current sharing platform.

Follow these steps in classic Outlook for Windows:

    1. In Outlook, go to the Calendar module.
    2. In the calendar list, locate the shared calendar (if it still appears but is empty or not working). If it does not appear at all, skip to step 4.
    3. Right-click the shared calendar and select Delete Calendar to remove the existing (old) shared calendar entry.
    4. Close and restart Outlook.
    5. After Outlook restarts, in the Calendar view, on the Home ribbon, select Add Calendar and then select Open Shared Calendar...
      • Do not choose Add from address list, because that adds the calendar as a MAPI shared calendar instead of the updated shared calendar type.
    6. Enter the name of the person who shared the calendar and select it.
    7. Select OK. The shared calendar will be added back to the calendar list.

Immediately after re-adding, the calendar may appear empty for a short time while Outlook syncs all events. For large calendars, this initial sync can take longer, but once complete, the calendar should appear and function again on the PC, matching what is seen on the iPhone.

If the shared calendar still does not appear or open correctly in classic Outlook for Windows (especially in Cached Mode), access to the shared calendar can also be done via Outlook on the web or the new Outlook for Windows while the desktop client is being investigated.
