    Hi Peter,

    Thank you for reaching out.

If your Microsoft Teams app shows it was last updated in September 2025, the first step is to manually update the app.

    On Desktop:

    1. Open Microsoft Teams.
    2. Click Settings and more (...) > Settings > About Teams.
    3. Under Version, check if an update is available. If you see Update now, please select it.
    4. You may also see an update banner at the top of the app: click Update > Update and restart Teams. The app will close, install the update, and reopen automatically.

For more details, you can refer to: Update Microsoft Teams | Microsoft Support

Image of Settings and more dropdown menu with Update and restart Teams highlighted.

If you need immediate access to classes or meetings, you can use Teams on the web, which is always up to date.

    On Mobile:

Please visit the App Store (iOS) or Google Play Store (Android) and install the latest version of Microsoft Teams.

If this is a school-managed device or account, it’s also possible that updates are controlled by your IT administrator. In that case, you may need to contact them for assistance.

I hope these steps help you get things working again. If you have any questions or need further assistance, please feel free to reach out. I’ll be happy to help.

Thank you for your patience and understanding. I look forward to assisting you further if needed.

The Teams app being last updated in September 2025 usually just reflects the latest version available for that channel/device. To ensure the app is actually current, follow these steps based on how it was installed:

    1. If Teams was installed from an Android app store (for example, Xiaomi GetApps):
      • If it was originally downloaded from Xiaomi GetApps or a third‑party site (APKMirror, Aptoide, etc.), it may not update correctly.
      • Uninstall the existing Teams app from the device.
      • Open the Xiaomi GetApps store, search for Microsoft Teams, and install the Teams app that has the new badge.
      • Sign in again; this version will receive ongoing feature and bug updates.
    2. If using desktop or web:
      • The version shown (for example, a September 2025 build) may already be the latest available for that release track. The version history for public cloud offerings shows that different platforms (desktop, web, new Teams, classic Teams) have their own version numbers and release dates, and not all are updated daily.
      • As long as the app is installed from an official source (Microsoft Store, Office installer, or official download) and shows no update errors, no additional action is required.

If Teams reports errors when checking for updates or fails to update, reinstalling from the official store or installer for the platform is the supported way to get back onto the latest version.
