Managing sound and video settings during Teams meetings and calls for optimal communication
Hi waqas,
Thank you for reaching out and for sharing your concern.
To turn on microphone and camera, please follow these steps (The following guidance is for Windows devices. If you are using a different device, please let me know):
Step 1: Verify Teams app permissions
- Outside the meeting, open Teams and go to Settings and more (…) > Settings > Devices.
- Make sure the correct devices are listed and that the microphone and camera are not muted at the app level.
Step 2: Check Windows privacy settings
- Close Teams completely.
- On your Windows device, go to Settings > Privacy & security > Camera.
- Ensure that Camera access is turned on and that Microsoft Teams is allowed to use the camera.
- Repeat the same under Privacy & security > Microphone.
Step 3: Check site permissions in your browser
- If you are using Teams on the web, select the padlock icon in the address bar of your browser > Site settings.
Confirm that both Camera and Microphone are set to Allow for the Teams site.
If they were blocked, change them to Allow, then refresh the page and rejoin the meeting.
I hope this information is helpful. Please follow the steps above and let me know if it works for you. If not, we can continue working together to resolve the issue.
