This product key was redeemed by [Moderation note: PII removed]@gmail.com on 18 November 2025 (213 days ago).

Is there anyway I can redeem this product key? I bought it at Machines (Malaysia's largest Apple Premium Partner (APP) and Authorized Reseller).

    Hi, Idah Zawani

The message means Microsoft’s system has already recorded that key as used, and the partial email shown is the account it was attached to. Since you bought it from Machines, an authorized reseller, this should be handled as a purchase/redemption dispute, not as a normal activation problem.

Here are some suggestions you can try:

First, check whether your @gmail.com could be one of your own Gmail/Microsoft sign-in aliases. If you have more than one Microsoft account, sign in to each one at the Microsoft account Services & subscriptions page and see whether the Office/Microsoft 365 product appears there.

If that email is definitely not yours, contact Machines again and ask them to escalate it as an already-redeemed Microsoft product key case through their reseller/distributor channel. Give them the receipt, product card/box, the exact error code, the correlation ID, and the timestamp. Do not send the full key in a public forum.

It is also recommended that you contact Microsoft Support and provide the same proof of purchase. Ask them to verify the redemption status of the key and whether it was redeemed before your purchase date. If support confirms it was already redeemed by another account, ask Machines for a replacement key or refund, because the retailer is the party that can validate the stock and sale record.

The error means the product key has already been redeemed and is now permanently tied to the Microsoft account shown in the message. A Microsoft 365/Office product key can only be redeemed once and cannot be moved to a different Microsoft account by redeeming the same key again.

To use the product, sign in with the Microsoft account that originally redeemed the key (the one partially shown in the message) and install/activate Office from that account’s Services & subscriptions page. Do not try to redeem the key again at Office.com/setup or Microsoft365.com/setup, as it will always show as already used.

If that account is not yours, or the key was sold to you in this already‑used state, this is typically treated as a fraud/abuse scenario with the seller. In that case, contact the retailer for a refund or replacement and, if necessary, report the issue as suspected fraud.

Key points from the product-key rules in the documentation:

    • A product key can only be redeemed once and is not meant to be reused or shared.
    • After redemption, installation and activation are done with the Microsoft account, not the key.

There is no supported way to redeem this same key again to a different Microsoft account.
