Thank you for posting your question to the Microsoft Q&A forum.
- How to check your Office version
- On Windows: Open any Office app (such as Word) > go to File > Account > under Product Information, you will see the product name and version/build number.
- On macOS: Open any Office app (such as Word) > from the top menu, select Word (or Excel) > About Word > the version will be displayed in the dialog.

- About keeping versions consistent across devices
Just to clarify, are you referring to the update/build version of Office being different across your devices?
To use the same Office version across all your devices, you can first compare the version and build numbers on each device. If they are different, update Office on each device to the same version:
- On Windows: Go to File > Account > Update Options > Update Now.
- On macOS: Open any Office application and select Help > Check for Updates to launch Microsoft AutoUpdate, then install any available updates.
Please note that devices using different update channels (such as Current Channel, Monthly Enterprise Channel, or Beta/Insider Channel) may receive different versions. If you want all devices to stay on the same version, make sure they are configured to use the same update channel.
