Using New Outlook on Windows for professional communication and productivity
Hi @Laura B,
Regarding your issue, may I kindly ask a few questions to help understand it better.
- I saw that you posted your question under the Business category so to better support you, would you mind letting me know is this account a personal Microsoft account (e.g., account.microsoft.com) or a work/school account (e.g., myaccount.microsoft.com) provided by an organization?
- Is this happening only on your account, or are colleagues within your organization running into the same preview error?
- When the same draft is opened in Outlook on the web, does the attachment preview correctly, or does the same error show up?
- Does signing out of New Outlook completely and signing back in make any difference?
- Was a repair on Outlook attempted (Settings > Apps > Microsoft 365 > Repair)? For more details, please refer to: Repair an Office application
- Did clearing the New Outlook cache change anything? To do this, close New Outlook completely, press Windows + R, paste olk.exe --devtools. Then reopen New Outlook and open attachment in draft emails again.
-
- As a last resort, have you tried removing and reinstalling New Outlook? You can do this by going to Settings > Apps > Installed apps, locating Outlook (New) and selecting Uninstall, then reinstalling it from the Microsoft Store and signing back in.
Hope to hear back from you soon.
