I have clicked allow on all privacy settings of my Microsoft account, yet it still does not let me play on multiplayer. I have tried adding another account on my Microsoft Family account because I am the only person and I don't see the three dots to remove myself. When I add another account to try and remove myself, it just adds my original email back and it won't remove that account from the family. My account isn't a child account, but it's added as one and I'm the only person in it. Minecraft still says that I can't play on multiplayer due to my profile but none of these solutions have worked.

    Hi Chloe Reamico,

I understand how frustrating this must be, especially after you already changed the privacy settings to Allow and tried adjusting the Family settings.

To help narrow this down, could you please confirm a few things?

    • When you sign in to family.microsoft.com with the same Microsoft account used for Minecraft, does your account show as an Organizer or a Member?
    • Do you see any option such as Manage consent, Remove consent, or Remove from family group?
    • Is the date of birth on your Microsoft account correct under account.microsoft.com > Your info?
    • When you open your privacy/online safety settings, are the options editable, or are they greyed out / asking for a parent or organizer?
    • Are you signed in to Minecraft Launcher and Microsoft Store with the same Microsoft account that owns Minecraft Java?

In the meantime, please try the following:

    • Sign out of Minecraft Launcher, Microsoft Store, and any Microsoft gaming-related app on the PC.
    • Go to family.microsoft.com and check whether your account is still listed in a family group. If it shows as a Member, the Organizer account may need to change the permissions or remove the account from the family group. If there is a consent option, try removing consent first, then check if the Remove from family group option appears.
    • Check your Microsoft account date of birth at account.microsoft.com > Your info. If the account is being incorrectly recognized as underage, multiplayer and communication features may remain restricted.
    • Recheck the online safety/privacy settings for the same Microsoft account and make sure multiplayer, cross-network play, adding friends, and communication permissions are set to Allow. After saving the changes, sign out and sign back in.
