    Hi Charlie

I understand that you cannot receive OTP or verification emails from apps in your Outlook.com mailbox, and that those apps do not offer another verification method. Please reply with the following information:

    • Can you receive normal emails from people, or are only OTP emails missing?
    • Is this happening with one app or with multiple apps?
    • Did the app provider confirm that the OTP email was sent?
    • Did the app provider receive any bounce-back or delivery error?
    • Have you checked Outlook.com on the web, not only a mail app?

    Meanwhile, try the checks below:

    1) Confirm whether Outlook.com can receive normal email

Sign in directly at Outlook.com and send a test email to yourself from another email account.

    • If you cannot receive any email, first check your Microsoft cloud/mailbox storage.
    • If Microsoft cloud storage is full, Outlook.com cannot send or receive email, and messages sent while storage was full may bounce back and be unrecoverable.

    2) Search all mailbox locations for the OTP email

In Outlook.com, use Search and try keywords such as the app name, verification, security code, OTP, or login code.

Also check these folders and views:

    • Inbox
    • Junk Email
    • Deleted Items
    • Archive
    • Other tab, if Focused Inbox is enabled

    3) Mark valid OTP messages as not junk, if found

If the OTP email is in Junk Email, select the message and choose Report > Not junk. This helps move the message back to the Inbox and can help Outlook.com treat similar messages more appropriately in the future.

    4) Check Rules, Forwarding, and Blocked senders

In Outlook.com, check the following settings:

    • Go to Settings > Mail > Rules
      • Remove or disable any rule that may move, delete, archive, or redirect OTP messages.
    • Go to Settings > Mail > Forwarding
      • Make sure mail is not being forwarded away from the mailbox.
    • Go to Settings > Mail > Junk email
      • Confirm the sender or domain is not listed under blocked senders.

    4) Ask the app provider for the OTP sender address or domain

Since you do not know which email address is sending the OTP, contact the app provider’s support team and ask for the exact sender address or domain used for verification emails.

Once you have it, add it to Outlook.com:

    5) Ask the app provider whether the OTP email bounced

If you are not receiving a specific email and there is no visible error, you should contact the sender and ask them to refer to Sender Support in Outlook.com.

    6) If this is a Microsoft verification code, use Microsoft’s verification-code guidance

If the missing OTP is from Microsoft, check the Junk Email folder for a message from Microsoft account. Also avoid requesting codes repeatedly in a short period, because excessive or repeated requests can trigger a temporary block where codes may not be sent. See: Troubleshoot Microsoft verification code issues | Microsoft Support
