Hi

I was notified when Skype changed over to Microsoft and as I had a credit on Skype, I thought I did what was needed. However, I don’t seem to be able to use Skype unless I put in my address but when putting in my address, it doesn’t accept it. So I’m unable to use my Skype. I have a Microsoft account with my work, but that is a different email address altogether. I don’t want to sign up particularly for Microsoft 365 and hope I can use Skype. Please help me.

    Hi mayumi seiler,

    Welcome to Microsoft Q&A forum.

Please note that our forum is a public platform, and we will modify your question to hide your personal information in the description. Kindly ensure that you hide any personal or organizational information the next time you post an error or other details to protect personal data.

I’m sorry to hear that you’re unable to use your Skype Credit because the billing address is not being accepted.

I have seen similar reports from other users. You may try changing the language/region in your Microsoft account to another option, save the change, then add or update the billing address again and check whether Skype Credit works. If it still does not work, you can try switching to another language/region and repeat the billing address update.

You can also refer to this similar thread: I am unable to add an address/billing address to reactive my Skype account - Microsoft Q&A

Also, please make sure you are signing in with the exact Skype/Microsoft account that has the Skype Credit balance, not a different Microsoft account or work account.
