Cannot Remove Message Preview; No "Off" Option

I cannot remove the message preview in outlook. It makes it very difficult to track my emails/responses/etc. There is no "off" option under Message Preview. Please advise on how I may fix this issue.

Olivia is right to ask as I have the same problem. These suggestions you shared are no longer available after what appears to be a recent update to the New Outlook App. This is an annoying feature and unwanted by myself and likely many others. Unfortunately, if I have to go to Classic outlook I lose the ability to also use-Co-pilot to help my workload.

Please help us to get Microsoft to put the Hide function back into this app.

The product team is in charge of the site, and they constantly check customer reviews and feedback, the higher votes, the more attention the related team will pay on. Olivia is right to ask as I have the same problem. Thank you for posting your question in the Microsoft Q&A forum.Based on your description, you are unable to remove the message preview in Outlook because the “Off” option is missing.

Which version of account are you using (personal account or business account)?

Does this issue happen in all folders (Inbox, Sent, etc.) or only in a specific folder?

Are other users in your organization experiencing the same issue?

In the meantime, here are some suggestions you can try to check:

Check the View menu in New Outlook (web version)

Open Outlook
Go to View tab
Select Message Preview
Choose Hide preview text.

Check Outlook Settings

Click Settings in the top-right
Go to Mail > Layout
Scroll to Message list format
Uncheck Show preview text and save

This is the standard method to disable message preview text

You could change the Reading Pane via View > Reading Pane > "Popout only" to see if it fits your needs.
