Missing animation for desktop switch

I used an app to assign keyboard shortcuts to side mouse buttons to switch desktops on windows 10 (win+ctrl+ arrow) and it had a slide left or right animation but there's nothing on the new windows 11 which is annoying because I sometimes can't navigate properly. Although trackpad swipe still works the same. Is it just me or is there a fix?

I've been bothered by this, as well. I finally tracked down a possible answer, according to a commenter on r/Windows11 here: https://www.reddit.com/r/Windows11/comments/pw1i3a/no_animation_when_switching_desktops_makes_it/

TL;DR: There was a pre-release bug with the switching animation that couldn't be fixed for release, so it was disabled and will be fixed in an upcoming update.

To "celebrate" almost two years of having the same issue, I'm sharing couple of promotion codes for the app that fixes this issue without the animation and adds couple of extras.

App is named Virtual Desktop Indicator and you can find it in Windows Store.

Owners of this app also get Essential Clock app for free. This app solves the problem of not having the ability to see clock seconds on Windows 11.

There is an app that always shows you the current desktop number in system tray and shows the indicator on all of your monitors when you switch to another desktop.
App is named Virtual Desktop Indicator and you can find it in Windows Store.
