I used an app to assign keyboard shortcuts to side mouse buttons to switch desktops on windows 10 (win+ctrl+ arrow) and it had a slide left or right animation but there's nothing on the new windows 11 which is annoying because I sometimes can't navigate properly. Although trackpad swipe still works the same. Is it just me or is there a fix?

Same for me I really hope the animation can be brought back. Very annoying working on multi-desktop I'm thinking to downgrade at windows 10 for that.

This. Is. RIDICULOUS. For anyone reading this, as of 07/10/23, this is STILL not fixed. The github listed as the answer might work, but it did put me on to a (STUPID) solution in the interim: On a trackpad (if you have a laptop) one can "Four finger swipe" lft or right and see the animations. Win+CTRL+Arrow? NOT SO MUCH. DO BETTER, @Microsoft. Why was this disabled in the first place? I suspect when they disabled the "advanced tab" legacy subroutine (see this article) they didn't realize (or didn't care) that it controlled other things. FIX IT, MICROSOFT.
