A cloud-based task management app from Microsoft that helps users organize and manage daily tasks across devices.
Hi, Lincoln Park
This usually happens when the Microsoft To Do app data, Microsoft Store cache, or the Windows app registration gets damaged. Since the window opens and closes right away, it is more likely an app/Store issue than a problem with your actual task list.
Here are some suggestions you can try:
First, check whether your tasks are still visible in Microsoft To Do on the web. If they are there, your data is synced and it is safer to repair or reinstall the app.
Go to Settings > Apps > Installed apps > Microsoft To Do > Advanced options, then choose Repair. If that does not help, choose Reset. This refreshes the local app data without needing to reinstall Windows.
Next, reset the Microsoft Store cache. Press Windows + R, type wsreset.exe, then press Enter. After it finishes, open Microsoft Store > Library > Get updates, install all updates, then restart the PC.
If To Do still crashes, uninstall Microsoft To Do, restart the computer, then reinstall it from Microsoft Store. It is also recommended that Windows date, time, region, and Windows Update are all correct, because Store apps can fail to launch when those settings are out of sync.
If Microsoft Store also opens and closes, the issue may be with Windows Store app registration, not To Do itself. In that case, repairing Windows apps or re-registering Store apps through PowerShell may be needed.
