Hi Earlene B Dixon,
If by "pinning the microphone" you mean having quick access to microphone controls in Windows 11, there is currently no built-in option to permanently pin a microphone button to the desktop or taskbar. However, you can make microphone settings easier to access in a few ways.
Option 1: Pin Sound Settings to Start
- Open Settings > System > Sound.
- In Start, search for Sound settings.
- Right-click it and select Pin to Start.
Option 2: Use Quick Settings
- Press Windows + A to open Quick Settings.
- Select the arrow next to the volume control to quickly switch and manage audio input devices.
Option 3: Create a Desktop Shortcut
- Right-click the desktop and select New > Shortcut.
- Enter:
ms-settings:sound - Name the shortcut (for example, "Microphone Settings").
I hope this helps point you in the right direction. Let me know if you need further assistance, feel free to ask me by clicking "Add Comment" or "Add Answer" if you cannot add comment so your response will be visible. Thanks for your effort.
