Customizing the visual backdrop during video calls to enhance privacy or presentation
Hi Bob,
I hope you're having a nice day.
You can set up a background filter (background effects) in Microsoft Teams either before joining a meeting or during a meeting. Microsoft refers to this feature as Background effects or Video effects.
Before joining a meeting:
- Open Microsoft Teams and select Join for your meeting.
- On the pre-join screen, turn on your camera.
- Select Effects and avatars (or Background filters, depending on your Teams version).
- Choose Blur to blur your background, or select one of the available background images.
- Join the meeting.
During a meeting:
- Select More actions (...) in the meeting controls.
- Choose Video effects and settings.
- Select Video effects.
- Choose Blur or another background image, then select Apply.
