Thank you for sharing the details. Since this started suddenly and affects sharing PowerPoint and Word documents in Microsoft Teams meetings, I would like to collect a few details first so the issue can be narrowed down correctly.

Could you please confirm the following?

Are you using the Teams desktop app or Teams on the web? Are you using a Windows or Mac device?
Could you please confirm how you were trying to share the content in the Teams meeting? Were you sharing your entire screen or a specific PowerPoint or Word window, or were you using the PowerPoint Live section in Teams, such as selecting a recent PowerPoint file, Browse OneDrive, or Browse my computer?
Could you please confirm what happened when you tried to share your screen in the Teams meeting? Is there any error message showed up? If so, please share a screenshot of the error message.
⁠Does this happen in all meetings, or only in specific meetings?
⁠Are you the meeting organizer, presenter, or attendee when this issue occurs?

Desktop Mack was trying to share a Power Point slide and a word doc.

I teach this way every day with no issues.

The students could see colourful wavy lines each time. For me it looked like I was sharing the doc.

I’m the meeting organiser.

The problem only started 2 days ago.

Thank you for your patience.

Since the issue appears normal on your side, but students are seeing colourful wavy lines, could you please ask one of the students to take a screenshot of what appears on their device while you are sharing the PowerPoint slide or Word document?

Could you also confirm what devices the students are using to join the Teams meeting, such as Windows, Mac, iPad, Chromebook, mobile device, or Teams on the web?

Once you share the screenshot and device details, please also try a test meeting where both you and the students join using Teams on the web, then test sharing the PowerPoint and Word document again. This will help confirm whether the issue is related to the Teams desktop app on Mac, the students’ devices, or how the shared content is being displayed.
